In Cyan, Indiana, Dark Shadows is a pub filled with unique characters. The bar is a draw for the unusual, the wicked, and a place where even a Guardian defining justice can’t depart.
Henri Chambers is tired of immortality. A Guardian squad member of heaven and hell, he is on a new mission…to find a recruit for the team and hopefully his replacement. He finds his quarry in a pub called Dark Shadows. Unfortunately, the target is the brother of the first woman to ignite a fire inside Henri in centuries.
Tori Kepler, half owner of Dark Shadows bar and grill has been diligent in her efforts to subdue her fire starting abilities. That is, until she meets Henri Chambers, then uncontrollable sparks fly. When her brother sees the ghost of their mother and a prophecy is given via two tarot cards, The Hierophant and Seven of Swords, he decides to sell the pub. The decision about what path to take in her life is taken out of her hands.
Will the two lovers find heaven on Earth in each other’s arms or will their paths take divergent courses?

Winter chill got you down?
During the cold of winter is the best time to warm up with hot tea, cocoa, or coffee and enjoy a steaming hot story. That's what I like to do anyway.
When I was growing up, winter evenings were generally spent with all of us sitting around my grandfather, bundled up in blankets, listening as he told us stories. Now, my family is not nor has never been what you would call "normal."
Most of the stories revolved around bloody bones, old lady Lucy with a taste for children, the Warlock's grave out in the woods, and stories of his uncles' encounters with the supernatural that he swore were real. Midway through the story, my mom and one of my aunts would begin banging on the window to scare the hell out us. Needless to say, it got the blood pumping and we would forget about how cold it was.
Naturally it was a given that when I began to write, it would be tales with a paranormal slant.
In honor of my winters spent with my grandfather, listening to these dark tales and the release of my two latest books: The World: Days of Blood and Magic and Festivals: The Frozen Heart (both available at All Romance E-Books) I am having a contest.
To play is simple. Buy a copy of either The Frozen Heart or Days of Blood and Magic, then shoot me an email at mmcbryar@comcast.net
Tell me the scariest story you were told growing up. The story that gives me that delightful little tingle will win a copy of Justice:Destruction of an Innocent as well as a never before released short story.
Stay warm this winter.

Vampires Invade Chinatown, San Francisco!
A New Tale for the Tease Festival Line!Jairec Connelly’s holiday in San Francisco turned into a living nightmare when he’s attacked by a chiang-shih, a Chinese vampire. He has until the end of the Moon Festival to find the elixir or become the white haired demon for all eternity. All he needs to do is convince one stubborn woman she holds the key.
Autumn Moon is an acupuncturist and herbalist. When Jairec confronts her demanding she give him the elixir of life, she believes he’s heard one too many Chinese legends about the Moon Festival. The chiang-shih of legends is a white haired, blue-faced vampire—nothing like Jairec with his Irish good looks and charming manners.
When a mysterious attack leaves the victim drained of blood, Autumn is forced to believe monsters really do exist. She searches her uncle's journals. She must find a cure for Jairec. Time is running out.
Jairec and Autumn join forces to stop the master chiang-shih from raising an army and taking over Chinatown. Jairec will do all he can to keep Autumn safe, even if it means his death.

Christmas Eve
It is 6:30 Eastern Standard Time and I am finally sitting down in front of my computer to write. I have a week and a half off from work and school. THe PhD program I am in is really killing my writing time. I know it is a sacrifice I have to make in the short term for better opportunities in the long run but I really miss writing. I miss my characters.
I also miss blogging. My New Year’s resolution is to blog at least once a week. Even if it is a scrambled bunch of words and thoughts I really need to blog.
I do want to say that Rafe is 1 chapter away from being complete. One Hot Momma is almost ready, of course it has to go through the editing process, but the story is coming for those of you who have been asking about it.
I am very sorry it has taken me so long to finish the book.
I hope to get the rest of my works completes in 2009 and also a few old pieces re-written and published. I have been digging through my old files and finding a few jems if I clean them up- I hope
Tonight I plan to write, eat dinner with my husband who is also finally getting to sit down and do what he wants to do for a change, play with my dogs and close to midnight we will open up our gifts to each other. It is about as long as we can wait. LOL
I plan to post a few notes of thanks as I reflect on this past year. It has been one very big rollercoaster ride for me personally and professionally. I have a great deal to be grateful for and if I keep those things in the forefront of my mind I will not lose sight of my ultimate goal: to be a full time author of romantic fiction and a part time college instructor. I really cannot wait until my day job becomes my part time job and my part time dream becomes a full time career. However, I do realize that in today’s economy I cannot complain about either. I am grateful for the full time job I have and I am very grateful for every person who choses to spend their hard earned dollars on one of my books, or any book right now.
Thank you and have a wonderful holiday season!

My paranormal erotic short story, "Caging Kat," has been named a recommended read at Joyfully Reviewed! Shayna calls it "...fast, fun, and hot enough to burn...Wickedly delightful!"
"Caging Kat" is currently available in ebook format here. If you still haven't joined the e-revolution, have patience, the story will be released in print in a few months time as part of the Festivals anthology from Tease.
Blurb: An infamous art thief, Kaitlin lives a life most can only dream of. There's one problem, though - she's bored. When a mysterious invitation to a masquerade ball appears in her mailbox, she decides to attend on a whim.
Ares, God of War, has had his eyes on the feisty Kat for some time. But can he win her over with only one night to tame her wild heart? Can he get what he's always wanted by fulfilling her deepest desires?
